The eLearning Professional
|
|
eLearning is becoming more pervasive in education. While some teachers have had the opportunity to study this new form of teaching or to have been an online student, many more have had little or no experience in the area. Nevertheless, they may still be expected to teach online.
Whether you are a novice online teacher or have considerable experience, this site aims to provide you with the knowledge and resources to help improve your teaching and make the job easier and more enjoyable. |
Online teaching - a magic bullet?
Some administrators may see online teaching as a cure-all or even a method for reducing costs.

However, it should be noted that elearning can be as poor as any other form of instruction can be. As far as costs - it can be even more expensive than traditional forms of teaching. Another common complaint is that the technology is driving the teaching. To be effective, technology should only be used where there is a clear pedagogical justification (there may be logistical reasons but at the least the technology shouldn't interfere with learning). |
